Three Day Weekend Retreats
Four times a year, CTBC Monastery offers three day weekend retreats. Dates will be posted on
the Home Page under Events. Registration typically opens about one month prior to the retreat.
These are silent retreats: there is strong encouragement for participants to turn off and turn in
their phones and to not read or journal during the retreat. This is a rare, supportive opportunity
to go inwards. These retreats are designed for those with some meditation experience.
The retreat goes from 9 am Friday until 5 pm Sunday. A typical day is as follows:
7:45 - 8:25 am Optional Shaking Qi Gong in library (not on Friday)
8:30 am Sutta reading, group Q+A re meditation practice (9am on Friday)
~ 9:30 am Sitting and walking meditation
11:30 am Lunch
1:30 pm Group meditation
2:30 - 5:30 pm Sitting and walking meditation
2:30 - 5:30 pm Optional Individual Interviews with Ayya Ahimsa or Sanghamitta
5:30 - 7 pm Tea, rest and/or more meditation
7 pm Group meditation
8 pm Dhamma reflection
8:45 - 9 pm Metta meditation and sharing merits
