Sept 2: This morning we read MN 20: How to Get Rid of Thoughts. The Buddha gives us five methods to do this.
Sept 6: The topic tonight was "How to Recognize a Good Teacher". This is the focus of chapter one in Bhikkhu Thanissaro's new book, "Along the Way". He emphasizes that even though there are some non-dual aspects to the Buddha's teachings, there are many dual aspects i.e. what is morally right and what is morally wrong. Some mistaken teachers have used the concept to non-duality to act immorally.
Sept 9: This morning we listened to a Dhamma talk by Ajahn Sona from 2007 on how to approach a meditation retreat in order to develop samadhi.
Sept 13: Tonight we carried on with the theme: how to recognize a good teacher. We used a Dhamma talk by Ajahn Brahmali talking about the Kalama Sutta.
